Raytevia’s career spans a versatile communications landscape over the past 15 years. With a diverse background covering public safety, local government, higher education, and digital media, she has consistently demonstrated her expertise in strategic communications and media relations.
She has held senior communications positions with various agencies, including Northern Virginia Community College and the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
A Kent State University graduate with a master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Raytevia excels in developing and implementing communications plans, managing social media campaigns, and storytelling. Her achievements in communication have earned her recognition, including receiving a 2024 Bronze Telly Award for her work as a creative director on a video project in partnership with King Productions and being named an Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 Honoree in 2023.
Throughout her career, Raytevia has shown a commitment to effective communication, crisis management, and advancing race and social equity through strategic communications and policy development.
In her free time, she likes trying new restaurants with friends, attending live concerts, watching entirely too much television, discovering new music, and reading (almost) anything she can get her hands on.
Sarah Godfrey is a seasoned communications professional with over two decades of experience spanning nonprofit organizations and the both private and public sectors.
She has held key communications, writing, and editing positions at Bread for the World and a variety of local government agencies. She also was a member of the development team at Faith in Action, where she built a donor communications program and served as the Lead Storyteller for Families Against Mandatory Minimums, building relationships with people incarcerated in federal prison and supporting them in crafting their stories and advocating for social and criminal justice reform.
A former journalist, Sarah has done writing and editing work for a variety of national and local publications, including The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, and Washington City Paper, where she earned multiple Association of Alternative Newsweeklies Awards.
Sarah's passion for storytelling and her commitment to social issues continue to drive her work in elevating important voices and fostering positive change through effective communication.
When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys thrifting, gardening, and sinking every extra drop of time, energy, and money she has into renovating and decorating her home.
